How to Airbrush Images
Airbrushing an image using graphics software has become common. It has been done in the fashion industry for some time, used as another tool for making images as perfect as they can be. Airbrushing is accomplished using an airbrush tool, which most of the better image editing software programs include. Airbrushing allows users to cover up flaws in photographs by airbrushing over them. Airbrushing is easy to learn and can turn a flawed photograph into a perfect work of art.

1
Open up your image editing software. Photoshop is one of the most popular image editing programs, but if you cannot afford it, GIMP is free open-source image editing with features on par with Photoshop (see link in Resources). On the "File" menu choose "Open" and browse to the folder where your images are stored. Click the picture you want to airbrush. It will open in your work space.

2
Use the eye dropper (eye dropper icon) tool to select the color you want to airbrush with. Select the color from the image as close to where the flaw is that you want to airbrush. Once you have selected a suitable color, click the airbrush tool (airbrush icon), located on the tool palette.

Start slowly. You want to make sure the color you have selected will match the flawed area. Apply the first sweep of the airbrush over the flawed area without releasing the button on your mouse. If it does not look good, all you need to do is go to "Edit" and click "Undo." The layer of color you applied will disappear.

Begin the same process again. If the initial color you selected did not work, use the eyedropper to choose another color. When you have a color that matches the flawed area, apply it with the airbrush tool. Use short strokes to apply the color, releasing the mouse button after each application. Change colors if you need to; continue to apply color until the flaw in your photograph is covered up. If you need to blend your airbrushed color, select the smudge tool from the tool palette for a touch up.
