How to Clean Imitation Marble

Imitation marble, also known as cultured marble, is a less expensive alternative to real marble. Imitation marble is composed of marble fragments, some limestone and other elements. Like marble, imitation marble must be properly maintained with a non-abrasive cleaner and sponge. Things You'll Need

  • Latex gloves
  • Bucket
  • Mild dishwashing soap
  • Lukewarm water
  • 3 soft non-abrasive cloths

Instructions

      Mix 1 tsp. of mild dishwashing soap and lukewarm water in a bucket and agitate the solution.

      Dip a soft, non-abrasive cloth in the bucket of soap solution. Wring out excess.

      Wipe the imitation marble surface gently with the damp cloth. Do not scrub or use a lot of pressure.

      Rinse the surface by wiping with a damp non-abrasive cloth. Wring the cloth to remove excess water.

      Dry the surface with a clean, dry non-abrasive cloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • To remove stains from your imitation marble surface, wet a soft cloth with a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide and wipe up the stain. Make sure the cloth is just damp and not dripping with hydrogen peroxide. Do not rinse the surface afterward.
