1
Find a company to supply the dinnerware and print the design. You can choose to have simple text printed on your dinnerware or you can choose a company that will assign an artist to work with you to create a custom drawing.
-
2
Choose 3 to 4 options for your dinnerware. Designs can be printed on all shapes and styles of plates. Try to choose a color and shape of plate that will complement the design you have in mind.

Choose a final drawing or design. If you have drawn your own design, take it to a local copy center to have a high resolution scan made. Send this drawing to the dinnerware company you have selected.

4
Ask the dinnerware company to supply you with proofs. The proofs should include your design and a selection of color and style options. Seeing the images of your various options will help you finalize your selection.

Tips & Warnings
Most online companies are set up to send proofs as digital images via email. If you are dealing with someone local, expect to visit with them at least twice to finalize your design: once to pick out the dinnerware and discuss design, and a second time to review proofs.
