    • 1

Remove the pole from the basketball goal kit. Measure approximately 18 inches from the bottom of the pole and mark it off using masking tape.

    • 2

Mix 850 pounds of dry concrete with water. Refer to manufacturer's instructions for the proper amount of water. This will be located on the side of the bag.

    • 3

Dig a hole in your designated location. Ensure that the hole is two feet wide, two feet long and two feet deep.

    • 4

Pour the mixed concrete into the hole, filling approximately 18 inches. Insert the pole into the cement, center it and ensure that it is standing straight. Use the level to ensure that the pole is centered and straight. Fill the rest of the hole with cement.

    • 5

Fill the pole with the concrete mix, and have someone hold the pole in place for a few minutes. Ensure that the pole is still center and straight. Allow it to dry for at least 48 hours.

    • 6

Attach the rim of the basketball goal to the backboard. There will be three bolts that will need to be inserted through the rim, and inserted through the matching holes of the backboard. Hand tighten the nuts down on the bolts. Use a flat head screwdriver to tighten down the nuts and bolts. If it is just spinning, hold the nut with an adjustable wrench, and then tighten down the bolts.

    • 7

Grab the two guide screws that attach the goal to the pole. Place the stepladder next to the pole and align the holes in the back of the backboard with the holes in the pole. Measure to ensure that the rim is ten feet from the ground. Insert the guide screws through the holes.

    • 8

Hand tighten the bolts that go on the threaded end of the guide screws. Using two adjustable wrenches, tighten the bolt and the guide screws down.
