How to Verify an IRS EIN Number

Each registered business and non-profit organization is provided a federal EIN number for tax purposes. Businesses and non-profits will often have the need to verify the tax ID (FEIN) number of other businesses. The federal EIN number may be verified online. To verify an IRS EIN number, one website offers a free trial period of five FEIN searches with restrictions. (See Resources).
