1
With scissors, cut a square or other shape out of construction paper. On this shape, write the names of the earliest known ancestors in the family tree.
-
2
Use a hole-punch to cut a section out of the construction paper square. Use this hole to tie the square to the bottom of a wire hanger with yarn or string.
-
-
3
Punch holes in the bottom of the first construction paper shape for each of the ancestor's children. Make construction paper shapes for these children (and their spouses, if applicable) to be tied to these holes. Make one shape for each child or couple.
-
4
On each of the second generation couples that had children related to your family, punch a hole in the bottom of the shape for each of their offspring. Make shapes for each of their children and tie them to the bottom of their parent's shapes.
-
5
Repeat this process until you reach your current closely-related family. Decorate current relations as you see fit to add a sense of self-importance and specialness to the family tree.
