- Scissors

- Thumbtack

Measure and cut a piece of red string that is 18 inches long.

Thread the string through the hole in the top of the prism so that it hangs evenly in the middle. This way the prism will hang from nine inches of string.

Set the looped string on the stem of the thumbtack, and press the thumbtack into the windowsill or archway where you want to hang the prism.

Lightly tap the thumbtack with the hammer to press it firmly into place.
