1
Register at a website that has a free hit counter, such as OneStatFree.com. The website will send you an email with an attached file named OneStatScript.txt, and your account number.
-
2
Write the account number down, save the file, and then delete the email.
-
-
3
Locate the saved file OneStatScript.txt, and change the extension to .htm. Then change the file name to something attractive which the hacker will be enticed to open.
-
4
Finally, send it to the Web mail account that you want to monitor, with a subject line that will attract the attention of the hacker. A good subject line will be relevant to the name of the script, and also attractive to the hacker.

5
When the offender subsequently snoops through your email, he will open the trip wire email which will capture his IP address and other details, and send it to your OneStatFree.com account. Then log in to your OneStatFree.com account and gather information about the offender. Further action can then be taken from there to insure that the offender won't be able to tamper with your email in the future.
