How to Connect your PC to an HDTV
Connecting your PC to a TV is not difficult; adapters that allow you to connect a VGA port to an S-Video port on a TV have been around for years. Now, however, you can connect your PC to your HDTV in full high definition. Turn your computer into a powerful piece of home theater equipment that allows you to browse the Web with high-resolution text, listen to music and watch high-def movies in the resolution they were intended to be watched in.
Things You'll Need
- VGA Cable
- DVI-to-VGA converter (if TV is not VGA)
- VGA-to-HDMI Converter
- 3.5mm audio cable
- HDMI Cable

Connect the VGA cable to your computer's monitor port. This will most likely be VGA . If it is DVI you can use a simple DVI-to-VGA converter.

Connect the other end of the VGA cable to the VGA-to-HDMI converter.

Connect a 3.5mm audio cable to the headphone jack on your computer. The other end will also plug into the VGA-to-HDMI converter. This adds audio to the equation, so that you can listen to movies through the TV's speakers.

Connect an HDMI cable to the VGA-to-HDMI converter.

Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to your television set. High definition video plays on your TV directly from your computer.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure you get a high quality VGA-to-HDMI converter. Lower quality ones have problems syncing the audio and video and often cause flickering on the screen.
