Freelance models are models who do not have exclusive representation with one modeling agency. Freelance models sometimes work with multiple modeling and talent agencies on a nonexclusive basis to find work. although lots of freelance models find modeling jobs on their own by marketing and promoting themselves to photographers, fashion designers, and other clients.

If you do not have the money to pay for a professional photographer to shoot you, try to find TFP photographers who will photograph you for free in exchange for your time. Be sure to do your research on different photographers and view their work before decide to work with them.

  • Build a modeling portfolio and get comp cards to send to clients after you receive your photos back from your photo shoot. Once you have your portfolio put together and have some comp cards, start sending them off to nonexclusive modeling agencies and photographers to try and get modeling jobs.
