How to Make Flowers With Fruit

Fruit is not only delicious and nutritious it is also great for making flowers. With some simple cutting and creativity you can create a beautiful flower or whole arrangement made entirely out of fruit. So instead of giving someone flowers that look nice but quickly die, give them a fruit flower that is beautiful and edible. Fruit flowers are also less expensive than most flowers, so you can save a buck or two in the process. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Pineapple
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Flower-shaped cookie cutter
  • Cantaloupe
  • Melon baller
  • Wooden skewer
  • Green grapes
  • Strawberries (optional)

Instructions

      Cut a pineapple into 1/2-inch slices. Lay the slices flat on the cutting board. Use a flower-shaped cookie cutter to punch flower-shaped pieces out of the slices.

      Cut a cantaloupe in half. Use a melon baller to scoop out some melon balls. Cut each ball in half.

      Place the flat side of the cut melon ball onto the center of the pineapple flower-shaped slice.

      Poke a long wooden skewer through five or six green grapes. Push the grapes down the skewer. This is the "stem" of the flower.

      Poke the end of the skewer through the pineapple slice and melon ball center. You can also use a sliced strawberry for the flower's center if you don't like cantaloupe or don't have one available.

  • Make several fruit flowers and put them in a vase to form a bouquet or flower arrangement.
