How to Make the Cub Scout Arrow of Light
The Arrow of Light is the highest award a Cub Scout can earn. To earn this badge, a Cub Scout must develop outdoor skills, understand and communicate the values of Scouting, and prepare to become a Boy Scout.

Age and Participation

1
You must be at least 10 years old or have completed the fourth grade and have been active in your Webelos den for at least six months.

Earn five activity badges beyond the three already earned for the Webelos badge.

Visit one Boy Scout troop meeting and one Boy Scout-oriented outdoor activity with your Webelos den.

Join one Webelos overnight campout or day hike.

Repeat from memory the Scout Oath and the 12 points of the Scout Law, and be prepared to discuss your understanding and use of them.

Give the Scout motto, slogan, sign, salute and handshake.

Describe the parts of the First Class Scout badge and understand their significance.

Tell how a Boy Scout uniform differs from a Webelos Scout uniform.

Tie a square knot.
Connections with Parents and Scout Leaders

With your parent or guardian, visit a meeting of a Boy Scout troop you think you might want to join.

Have a conference with the Scoutmaster of the Boy Scout troop you might like to join.

Complete the Honesty Character Connection with your parents.

Check with your Cub Leader, local Scoutmaster or official BSA website about specific requirements for the Arrow of Light. Some activities or badges used to attain previous ranks or awards might not be eligible for use twice.
