How to Remove a Background From a Computer

If your kids have put a background on your computer that you don't want or your computer came with a theme that you want to change, removing the background image from your desktop is very simple. You can have as your background a standard template image, a downloaded picture from the web or nothing at all.

Instructions

1. Right-click on the desktop and choose "Properties" or "Graphic Properties."

2. Select the "Desktop" tab and look for background graphic options. Windows usually has several options for graphics, so you can also choose a graphic from a file folder.

3. Scroll through the selection of image names under "Background." Click "none." Select "Color" next to the "Background" and you can choose the color of the background. Click "Apply," then "OK."
