Make a list of qualities you desire and need in a man. Part of the process of finding someone is knowing exactly what you're looking for. Start by drawing a t-chart on a sheet of paper in which you label one column desire and the other need. List at least five qualities for each column. Continue to add to the list as you see fit. Once you've finished with your list, check over it. Omit qualities you find trivial and add those you've possibly forgotten. But be willing to compromise with the qualities on your list; you wouldn't want to limit yourself.

Share your list with loved ones. Stress the importance of the list and ask them for help in meeting new men. Networking through family and friends is a safe outlet because it gives you a better chance of finding that compatible mate. Additionally, if you're still working look for pickings among your coworkers or coworkers' friends; your personal contacts are your greatest resource.

Explore your community hot spots. Visit parks, libraries, museums--and even attend Bingo nights. Go out to places where your age group will most likely be found. Mingle and show off your dazzling personality that's accompanied by your sharp wit. Open yourself up to all possibilities. Don't be afraid to approach men if they seem to be preoccupied with other things. Remember first impressions aren't nearly as important now-a-days.

Try utilizing the World Wide Web. The Internet has become a new zone for picking up dates, which in turn become romantic love interests. Try a free trial on a dating website. Learn the ins and outs of the site. Ask a friend or loved one to assist you in the process of taking photos, screening potential dates and tagging along on dates. Double dating can be a fun way to gain insight into your potential boyfriend.
