How to Memorize Piano Scales
Memorizing piano scales is one of the most effective ways to thoroughly learn and understand what it is you are playing. Scales form the basic parts of nearly all songs, and they are a major component in learning and utilizing music theory.
Using practice and other tools to help you memorize scales both in your physical muscle memory and in rote memorization is useful. The more ways you utilize various mnemonic tools to help aid your memorization, the more likely it becomes that you will successfully remember scales.

Practice playing the scales from memory without the use of the piano. Drum your fingers on another surface as though you were using the piano and mentally play through all of the scales you are trying to memorize.
