1
Select two colors of thread or yarn to make this small crocheted square floral sachet. Choose the correct crochet hook to use with your choice of thread or yarn.
-
2
Begin with the color you have selected for your floral design. Refer to an instructional primer of stitches if you need help. RedHeart.com is a good website to visit. Make six chain stitches and then create a circle by inserting your hook through the first chain stitch and doing a yarn over and pulling the loop through the stitch.

Next, chain three and do five double-crochet stitches into the circle. Drop the loop off of the hook and insert the hook into the top of the first stitch in the group. Catch the open loop of the last double crochet made and pull it through and chain one to complete the stitch. This group of five stitches is a variation of the popcorn stitch. Next * chain two, do five double-crochet stitches, drop the loop off of the hook and insert the hook into the top of the first double-crochet stitch. Catch the open loop of the last double-crochet made and pull it through and chain one. Repeat from the * six more times, chain two and close the circle with a slip stitch in the top of the first stitch in the round.

Insert your crochet hook into any of the chain spaces between the popcorn stitches and with your second color, chain three, and in the same space do two double-crochet stitches, chain three, and three double-crochet stitches. *In the next space between popcorn stitches make three double crochets, in the next stitch, **make three double crochets, three chain stitches and three double-crochet stitches. Repeat the sequence of *and then ** two more times and end with three double crochets in the last space and a slip stitch to close the round. Make an ending knot. Repeat steps two, three and four again to create the back of the sachet.

5
Cut two fabric squares slightly larger than the crocheted squares. Put the right sides together and stitch around three sides with thread and turn the square right side out. Fill lightly with scented potpourri or oil scented fiberfill. Scents of lavender, cinnamon, cloves, and roses are only a few choices that work well.Turn the edges of the last side inward and stitch closed.
-
6
Place the scented pouch between the two crocheted squares and stitch around all the edges with yarn using an overcast stitch to securely close all sides. Tie yarn off with a knot.
-
7
Add ribbon as desired. Options include corner to corner to allow it to be hung over a door knob, hook or hanger; through one corner loop and tied with a bow again for hanging; adding a small bow or two for decoration or even weaving ribbon through the outside round and tying it off with a bow. Put a few in a basket for display and to add pleasant scents to your environment or tuck them away in your drawers to add a hint of fragrance to items within them.
