Step 1
First, accept reality and stop being upset and depressed. It is totally OK to be down for a while. But see to it that it does not become a way of life for weeks. Give yourself a few days and then, start socializing. When I say socializing, it does not necessarily mean going to a rave party. Just start connecting with your family and friends. This will help you get out of that foul mood.
-
Step 2
Once you start feeling better, accept the situation you are in. The sooner you get to this stage, the better it is for you. You don't need to push yourself, but don't slack either.
-
Step 3
The next thing you need to do is update your resume. Check out the latest resume templates that are available online, and make a good looking resume. Share it with your family and friends. This way, they can send out your resume to their network of friends, and you will have more options.
-
Step 4
Start checking the Job Listings in your local newspapers and newsletters. Respond to as many of them as possible. The more you respond to, the higher your probability of bagging that job.
-
Step 5
If you are not hearing from prospective employers within a week, you could start looking at freelance sites. This way, you can work till you get a permanent job. You can also add this to your resume.
-
Step 6
To improve your resume, make the most of what you have, i.e., time. Upgrade your skills and take tests/certification exams. You could also attend classes. This will increase your chances of getting that job even more.
