Tooth Decay is usually caused by plaque, which quickly steals minerals from the teeth and destroys the enamel with its acid, soon leading to tooth decay. Though most tooth decay damage can not be reversed, there are ways to stop the tooth decay and prevent future damage and help to strengthen the teeth.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Cut back on your sugar intake. Excess sugar quickly causes an unbalance in the bodies chemistry, causing bacteria in the mouth to eat away at the enamel. Also avoid sugar alternatives, especially in diet soda forms, which also destroy enamel.

  2. Step 2

Increase your water intake. Water helps to rinse the mouth out and prevent bacteria that causes tooth decay. When you can't brush your teeth after you eat, also try rinsing out your mouth with water for a minute then spitting it out.

  3. Step 3

Increase your mineral intake, the teeth are made of minerals so increasing your mineral intake can help to prevent decay and strengthen the teeth. Try taking liquid minerals, which absorb more easily into the body. Focus especially on magnesium, manganese, boron, silica and calcium.
