Unemployment claims is not a lot of money. It is usually allocations of about $150 to $250 a week. You have to live on a budget and constantly look for employment. Use the unemployment for sustainment and follow the rules and guidelines so that your claim will continue.

  1. Step 1

    Notify your creditors of your financial situation. Companies may elect to not charge late fees if aware of your unemployment status. Let friends and family members know that your are looking for employment. Networking does not have to be an online job boards. Many times family, friends and neighbors can help you to get out of your unemployed state.

  2. Step 2

    Set a goal to stay on unemployment for no longer than thirty days. Call into the claims as directed and check the unemployment office in person everyday to look for employment. You need to document everything that you are doing to find a job as it is crucial for you to be employed and not unemployed for the long term.

  3. Step 3

    Plan to be employed and do not be particular about what kind of job you secure. Any job that you find will pay more than unemployment.
