Things You'll Need:
- Change of spending habits
-
Step 1
Live below your means.
This is a huge part of helping you become frugal. When you have excess money, you know that you are not in debt and can therefore start to save and invest which makes you even more money. -
Step 2
Stop buying "junk"
A lot of money is wasted by people who go out and buy little trinkets or memorabilia that they have no use for and all it does is collect dust. Not only is it taking up space in your house and not serving any purpose, it also costs you money that could have been used better elsewhere. -
Step 3
Food
Food is a huge expense for most households. The trick to saving money is to buy the food you usually eat while it is on sale, or to buy it in bulk. Coupons are also a great way to save money, but only on food that you would normally eat and not junk food. Eating unhealthy foods now will cost you later down the road especially when your health begins to deteriorate. -
Step 4
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Buy things that are going to be useful to you. Remember that you get what you pay for. It is best to pay more for something of high quality once than to keep having to buy something cheaper many times over. Keep what you believe is useful, but when you have no more need for it donate it if it is still in good shape.
