  • Computer running Windows (2000 and later)
  • Internet access
  • Mozilla Firefox browser
  1. Step 1

    Download and install the Mozilla Firefox browser if you haven’t done so already. The resource is below. The add-on to download Youtube videos is not supported in other browsers such as Windows Internet Explorer.

    Download and install the Mozilla Firefox add-on for downloading Youtube videos. The resource is below. If the link doesn’t work, google or search on the internet, “Fast YouTube Download” by the author YevgenyA.

  3. Step 3

    Unfortunately, the Windows Media Player doesn’t have the codec software for the audio. Download and install the audio codec, CoreAAC Audio, from the resource below.

    Once you have all the software installed, close all program windows. After that's done, go to your favorite Youtube video online to test.

    When you play a video in Youtube, you should that the video information box on the upper right reveals a “Download: FLV MP4 3GP” label under the URL and Embed labels. This means that you can download the youtube video in FLV, MP4, or 3GP format.

  6. Step 6

    For demonstration purposes, open any Youtube video and click on MP4. Firefox will ask you where to save it on your hard drive. Save the file and Firefox will open the Downloads window to show progress.

    Once you have completed downloading the video, you can click the file from your hard drive or from the Download window to test.
