Tofu is made from soybeans and resembles a block of soft cheese. It has very little flavor of its own and will absorb the flavors from the food it is being cooked with. In many recipes, you can season or marinate the tofu before cooking to give it the flavor that you desire.

Making tofu seasonings is simple; you can use plain soy sauce or combine a number of herbs and spices to create just the taste you want.
