Decorated Playtex gloves make humorous bridal shower or house warming gifts and allow crafty people the chance to express themselves. Nearly anything can be affixed to a rubber glove using special glue for plastic, which gives you the chance to completely personalize your gift.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plastic glue
  • Fake rings
  • Fake flower blossoms
  • Fake fur
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard
  • Paper towel
  1. Step 1

Wash and dry Playtex gloves to remove any dust or debris. Use warm soapy water and allow to thoroughly dry before proceeding. Air-drying is best--towel drying will deposit lint onto the glove.

  2. Step 2

Measure the circumference of the glove to decorate the top or "cuff" part of the glove. Take a tape measure and start at one point on the glove and wrap the tape around the rim to get an accurate measurement. Allow a little overlap.

  3. Step 3

Prepare your materials. Cut a length of fake fur to go around the rim, or for a more colorful glove, cut the stems off of silk flowers so the blooms have a flat surface that you can glue to the glove.

  4. Step 4

Place a piece of cardboard in the glove to create a "front" and "back" side and to prevent glue from sealing the glove shut while you work.

  5. Step 5

Apply a dot or a dotted line of plastic glue to the front of the cuff and press your adornments to the glove. Carefully pat down the fake fur or press firmly the flower blooms. Allow a few minutes to dry.

  6. Step 6

Flip the glove over and continue applying the strip of fur or the silk flowers to the edge of the cuff by dotting glue around the rim and pressing the material in place. Allow to dry.

  7. Step 7

Attach a fake diamond ring to the glove by cutting the plastic ring in half with a scissors. Roll up some paper towels and stuff into the ring finger of the glove. Dot some glue in place and press the ring onto the ring finger.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose glue that is made to be used on plastic.
  • Make a bunch of decorated gloves at a time. Once you get started, you'll see how much fun they are to make and give as humorous gifts.
  • Test your material for adherence problems to the rubber before completing your project.
