How to Seal Paver Stones
Stone pavers can be an elegant and durable addition to a garden, and by providing a walkway, prevent wear and tear on the landscape. They can vary in size and shape, and are often constructed of durable stone types such as granite, marble, bluestone, limestone and flagstone. However, like any stone left outside, pavers are subject to weather and water erosion, in addition to the wear of foot traffic. A good sealing product can prevent water from penetrating the pavers, extending their life. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Thoroughly rinse and scrub the pavers a day before you seal them. They should be clean and free of grit before the sealing process, but they need to be dry before you can begin. Clear away any grass or weeds hanging over the path or patio.
-
2
Pour some of the paver sealant into a paint tray and dip in the roller brush. Roll the brush across the tops of the pavers, working from one end of the path or patio to the other, and making sure not to trap yourself in an island surrounded by wet sealant.

3
Allow the sealant to dry for at least two hours, then reapply if necessary, or if the directions on your brand of sealant call for a second coat.

Tips & Warnings
Wait until two months after the installation of pavers to apply the sealant. The pavers need to settle. If you apply the sealant too early and the pavers shift, the sealant will take on a crackled appearance.
