How to Store Cigars in a Wine Cooler

WIne and cigars go great together if paired well. You may like wine so much that you have a wine cooler just for storage. A wine cooler is an excellent investment for white wines or reds that you may have a problem storing elsewhere. Although not highly recommended, you can also store your cigars in your wine cooler as well, rather than a refrigerator.

• Plastic container or Ziplock bag
• Boveda pack

Storing Cigars in a Wine Cooler

1. Buy your cigars at your local cigar store. While you're there, buy a Boveda pack; you can buy it for five dollars at a decent cigar shack. This item will keep your cigars at a constant humidity.

2. Set your wine cooler no cooler than 60 degrees. As previously stated, storing cigars is not recommended, however if it is necessary, be sure not to store cigars at a temperature lower than 60 degrees.

3. Place your cigars and Boveda pack in a plastic, air-tight container or large Ziplock bag and seal tight.

4. Place your container in the wine cooler. Remove as soon as possibly and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

• Cigars should be stored between 68 and 75 percent humidity. If you have this option, set your wine cooler between these levels.
• Keeping cigars in a refrigerator or cooler can be harmful, so do not store there for long periods of time.
