Things You'll Need:
- Measuring tape
- 24-gauge craft wire
- Wire cutters
- Spray paint
- Jeweler's glue
- Monofilament line
- Scissors
-
Step 1
Measure 2-inch lengths of 24-gauge craft wire for each crystal prism you plan to hang. Wire works best if you're adding the crystals to a light fixture; you can wrap and twist the wire around the metal arm or base and clip the crystals in place.
-
Step 2
Spray paint the wire to match the base metal of your light fixture. Colored wire is available, but it is often necessary to paint the wire for the best match. Your goal is to have the hanger blend into the fixture.
-
Step 3
Wrap the wire around the spot on the light fixture where you'd like to hang your crystal prism. Leave enough space between the wire wrap and the metal fixture for the crystal clip to fit.
-
Step 4
Hold the wire in place on the fixture with jeweler's glue. Jeweler's glue dries clear, and if you select one with a thicker consistency, such as E-6000, the wire will stay in place before the glue dries. When the glue is dry, clip your crystal prism onto the hanger.
-
Step 1
Measure the distance you would like for your crystal prism to dangle from a wind chime or a mobile. Double the measurement and add 3 inches.
-
Step 2
Cut a length of monofilament line to fit the measurement for each crystal prism you would like to hang.
-
Step 3
Remove the metal clip from the top of your crystal prism.
-
Step 4
Thread the line through the hole in the crystal prism. Double the monofilament line until the two ends are even.
-
Step 5
Knot the two ends together around the top of the mobile or wind chime. Add a drop of jeweler's glue to the knot and let it dry.
