How to Remove Strawberry Stains From Cotton Fabric

The perfect strawberry is as sweet as it is juicy. And even though your taste buds are happy, your clothing may not be. Strawberry stains leave a bright red reminder of a single tasty moment, one which you don't need a physical reminder of, but nonetheless there it is. Given that cotton is such a durable material, stains aren't a big deal. If you know what you're doing these stains are nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    Simple Method with Cold Water

  1. Step 1

    Place the fabric in the sink or bathtub underneath the faucet.

  2. Step 2

    Turn on the cold water.

  3. Step 3

    Allow the cold water to run through the stained area for 10 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Remove the fabric and launder as usual.

  5. Easy Method with Cold Water and Sunshine

  6. Step 1

    Saturate the stain with cold water.

  7. Step 2

    Scrub the stain gently with a soft clean cloth or sponge.

  8. Step 3

    Scrub the stain adding more cold water as needed to remove as much of the stain as possible.

  9. Step 4

    Set the fabric outside in the sunshine for several hours until the stain is gone.

  10. Remove the Stain with White Vinegar

  11. Step 1

    Set the stained fabric under cold running water for five to 10 minutes to flush out as much of the stain as possible.

  12. Step 2

    Add a half of a teaspoon of liquid laundry soap and two tablespoons of white vinegar to a quart of cold water and mix well.

  13. Step 3

    Soak the stained area of the fabric in the solution for 15 minutes.

  14. Step 4

    Rinse the area well with cold water.

  15. Step 5

    Launder the fabric as usual.

Tips & Warnings
  • If the stain won't come all the way out, dab the area with a clean cloth or sponge dipped in isopropyl alcohol to remove the residual.
  • Do not place the fabric in the dryer until the stain is gone or the heat will set it in.
