If your child has shown an interest in golf, and has asked you to take him or her with you to the course on more than one occasion, it might be time to start looking for a small set of clubs for the little one. Using clubs that fit to his or her size will help prevent the development of bad swing habits and injury. To decide on a set of clubs, the first thing you need to do is decide what length of clubs your child needs.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Use a measuring tape to determine your child's height. A kid's golf club conversion chart is based on how tall the child is.

  2. Step 2

Find your child's measurement on the chart and look across to see the size clubs that are best for him or her. Some charts will give you the sizes of just a couple of club types, like a driver and one iron, while others will give you the sizes for many irons and drivers.

  3. Step 3

Take your child to a store that sells children's clubs and test them out with your child. Sometimes you might need to go up or down a size length based on your child's arm length, due to the fact that not all children's arm lengths are the same.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check the weight of the clubs, as well as the length. A stronger child will be able to use a club with a heavier weight than a child with less arm muscle.
