Tired of paying outrageous prices for glass cleaners? Now you can make your own homemade window cleaner in just a few simple, easy to follow steps. Keep reading to find out how to make and use your own cleaning spray...

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 1/2 Cups of water
  • 1/3 Cup of White Vinegar
  • 1 Cup of Rubbing Alcohol
  • Newspaper
  1. Step 1

Purchase the products that you are going to need in order to make and use your own homemade window cleaner if you don’t already have them on hand in your cupboard. Those products are: White vinegar; rubbing alcohol; 32 oz spray bottle; newspaper and water (which you most likely will have on tap!).

Product Quantities that are going to be needed for this cleaning solution are:
    3 1/2 Cups of water
    1/3 Cup of White Vinegar
    1 Cup of Rubbing Alcohol
Newspaper – depends on how many windows you have to clean.

  2. Step 2

Remove the lid to your spray bottle and pour the ingredients for your homemade window cleaner, listed above, into your spray bottle one at a time. Replace the lid and shake well so that the solution is thoroughly mixed.

  3. Step 3

Spray your windows or mirrors with your homemade window cleaner, using the mist setting. Try not to soak the surface otherwise you will be hustling to catch the flow of the cleaner before it puddles on your counter or windowsill.

  4. Step 4

Take one sheet of your newsprint and crumble it loosely into a ball. Using a circular motion scrub your windows or mirrors until all the homemade window cleaner is off. If your newspaper starts to shred then use a clean fresh piece and continue to scrub until your surface is streak free. Make sure you get into those corners to ensure a bright, clear and clean shine!

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful to not spray near people or pets and to not inhale your homemade window cleaner to avoid any accidental ingestion or injury.
  • Follow the same precautions you would as recommended by similar ingredient containing products.
