Green Bean Casserole

At Thanksgiving and Christmas, most of us look forward to eating delicious Green Bean Casserole with French Fried Onions. It is almost as classic as mashed potatoes!

It's kind of unusual, though, that so few people really know how to make it. Do a survey with the people you work with, and you will find it remains a Holiday Secret! Maybe some clever Moms and Grandmoms have followed the age-old "Keep your mouth shut!" rule. Good for them! You should never tell how easy something is to make; it reduces its value and appeal. Just say, "Thank you very much. I am glad you like it."

Here is the basic recipe for green bean casserole. It is in every church cookbook across the United States, and it may vary a little. However, it is basically the same main ingredients. I am giving you the most basic, easy recipe.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Green Beans, 2 Cans Green Giant French style, but you can use whatever style.
  • 1 can Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 can French's French Fried Onions
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 splash of Kikkoman soy sauce or Worcester sauce.
  1. Step 1

Mix Green Giant green beans, Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup, milk and Kikkoman Soy Sauce or Worcester sauce.

  2. Step 2

Add 1/2 can of French's French Fried Onions. Stir lightly.

  3. Step 3

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  4. Step 4

Bake for 25 minutes and stir.

  5. Step 5

Sprinkle with the rest of the French's French Fried Onions. Bake 5 more minutes.
