Step 1
Always use lukewarm water when taking a shower or bath, never use hot water. Hot water will further dry out your skin.
-
Step 2
Choose hypoallergenic products as they tend to have less fragrance, dyes and perfumes in them then the regular formulas.
-
Step 3
When you shave go in the direction of your hair growth and use a moisturizing shaving gel or cream made for sensitive skin. If you want to save money, just use your hair conditioner, it works just as well.
-
Step 4
Exfoliate your skin only one time a week and avoid using abrasive washcloth's, sponges, or loofahs anywhere on your body.
-
Step 5
Apply soaps, body washes, or scrubs using your hands or a gentle soft cloth and rub very gently onto your skin.
-
Step 6
As you get out of the shower, pat dry your skin, do not rub. Patting your skin dry helps your skin to retain more moisture and will not damage your skin like rubbing often does.
-
Step 7
After a shower make sure to seal in moisture by apply a hypoallergenic lotion all over.
