How to Make an Inexpensive Pinecone Wreath
If you have pine trees growing in your yard, you can use the cones to create an attractive wreath that you can decorate any way you’d like to match a specific season or décor. Since you can gather the pinecones for free, making a pinecone wreath is an economical craft. Does this Spark an idea?

Soak a variety of different sized pinecones in a bucket of warm water until they close up. White, red and scotch pinecones work best.

Wrap floral wire around the bottom of each pinecone, leaving both ends of the wire exposed.

Push the pinecones between the wires of a pinecone wreath ring, wearing gloves to protect your hands. Wrap the exposed wires around the back of the metal wreath form to secure the pinecones to the wreath form. Start at one spot and fill both the inside and the outside rings at the same time. Continue around the ring until it is full.

Dry the wreath by placing it in a warm area such as in a sunny location.

Spray varnish, gold paint or snow on the wreath. Add embellishments to fit your style or a particular season, such as a battery-operated string of lights, ribbons and greenery.

Tips & Warnings
Wire wreath must have at least 1 1/2" space between the wires. Most craft stores do not carry these . I got mine on the internet
If you plan on spray painting your wreath, wait till it is dry.
Pine cones are prickly and full of resin, so wear gloves to protect your hands.
