Pain relievers, when taken in pill form, have to be broken down in the stomach by its acid, travel through the digestive system, and finally be absorbed into the blood stream, before they can effectively relieve any aches or pains. The faster the pain reliever is dissolved, the faster it can start to eliminate pain. An easy way to get the pain reliever into the blood stream fast is to dissolve the pain reliever in an acidic soda and drink it.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Glass
  • Soda
  • Pain relievers
  • Spoon
  1. Step 1

Fill a glass with about 6 ounces of acidic soda. All sodas are considered acidic, however dark sodas such as RC, Coke, and Pepsi are the most acidic.

  2. Step 2

Drop the pain relievers into the soda and let sit for anywhere from 15 seconds to 12 minutes. Melt-away pain relievers will dissolve much quicker in acidic soda than regular pain relievers. Ibuprofen takes the longest amount of time to dissolve.

  3. Step 3

Stir the soda with a spoon and remove any debris from the pain reliever capsule that may be floating on top.

Tips & Warnings
  • Apple juice is acidic and may be used in place of soda.
  • Drinking large amounts of acidic soda can ruin the enamel on teeth, and contribute to bone loss.
