Fraud is the intentional perversion of the truth, or deception, which causes another person to suffer some sort of loss. Fraud is a serious crime and the best way to stop it is through prevention. HUD, also known as the Department of Housing and Urban Development, is a department of the government that deals with housing programs such as the housing choice voucher program and public housing. If you are aware of any dishonest activity involving HUD. it is fairly easy to report.

Instructions

1. Submit a complaint for mismanagement or violation of HUD regulations, rules or laws by calling HUD's toll-free phone number, [phone].

2. Mail a complaint to HUD by filling out an OIG Hotline Complaint Intake Form and sending it to the HUD Office of Inspector General Hotline, GFI, at 451 7th Street SW in Washington, DC 20410. You can download this form in the resource section listed below.

3. Use email to submit a complaint to HUD online; send the email to [e-mail]. You can also fax an OIG Hotline Complaint Intake Form to HUD by filling it out and submitting it to the fax number [phone].
