Ski boots have, over the years, evolved into something akin to futuristic rigid clamps on a skier's feet, and getting them fastened on your feet seems to take a lot of work. However, fastening ski boots need not be a chore, if you follow a simple pattern in putting them on. Once you do get them on properly, you will find skiing to feel more secure.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Unbuckle the boots and lift the buckles away from the notches.

  2. Step 2

Lift the tongue of the boot fully out and, while holding it up, slide your foot into the boot. Once your foot is inside the boot, lift it up and kick your heel against the ground to slide the heel into position.

  3. Step 3

Fasten the power strap that goes around the shin.

  4. Step 4

Buckle the toe buckle first, at about its midway point.

  5. Step 5

Fasten the other three buckles, working from low to high.

  6. Step 6

Starting at the toe again, tighten the buckles one at a time so that your foot is completely snug inside the boot. Finish by re-tightening the power strap.
