How to Replace the Oil in a KitchenAid Mixer

When using a KitchenAid mixer, routine care does not include oiling the appliance. Whatever lubrication the machine requires is self-contained and should last the life of the mixer. However, if the appliance is defective or a mishap occurs, causing oil to leak from the shaft or ring area, the mixer might need to be repaired. Attempting to do this yourself will void the warranty and could damage the machine.

Instructions

1. Review your KitchenAid mixer's date of purchase and warranty to see if it is still covered by a warranty. This will determine if you will need to pay for the repair.

2. Locate an authorized KitchenAid repair shop in your area. Call 1-800-541-6390 for a location in your area.

3. Take or send the KitchenAid mixer to the repair shop, and have them repair the oil leak. If necessary, more lubricant can be added at that time. However, unless more than a quarter cup of oil has been lost, there is no reason to re-lubricate the mechanism.
