How to Use an Omelette Maker Pan

The omelet begins when eggs are whipped and instead of being scrambled, are cooked in the skillet without further stirring. Some chefs prefer to flip the omelet after one side is cooked or firmed up, enabling them to cook the other side before folding the omelet in two, like an envelope. During the process, filling is added such as chopped vegetables, meat or cheese. The Omelet Maker Pan is a specially designed pan that cooks one side of the mixture, then folds it like a burrito, so that the heat from the enveloped sides completes the cooking process.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Omelet Maker Pan
  • Butter
  • Eggs
  • Whip
  • Diced vegetables, meat or grated cheese
  1. Step 1

    Add a little butter or oil to the Omelet Maker Pan and heat over a medium-high temperature.

  2. Step 2

    Pour one to three whipped eggs into the heated Omelet Maker Pan.

  3. Step 3

    When the eggs begins to firm but are still slightly soft, add desired ingredients, such as diced vegetables or meat, down the center of the omelet.

  4. Step 4

    Push one of the buttons on the handle to flip and fold one side of the omelet. Right before you do this, add grated cheese, if desired. The omelet should not be runny, but firm and slightly wet.

  5. Step 5

    Push the other button on the handle to flip the opposite side, making an envelope. The heat from the enveloping sides should help to complete the cooking process.

Tips & Warnings
  • For extra fluffy omelets, whip the eggs in a blender thoroughly and add several tablespoons of ice cold water.
  • Do not cook on too high a heat, or the outside will overcook before the folded center finishes cooking.
