How to Completely Uninstall AVG Anti Virus
AVG Anti-Virus is an anti-virus program available as a free or paid version. If you are using AVG Anti-Virus and find that the program is not working to your satisfaction, or if your virus definitions have become corrupt, you may want to uninstall the program. It can be uninstalled through the Control Panel, but if you are having trouble removing it you may want to use the uninstall utility included in the setup file.

Using the Control Panel

Click on your Start Menu and select "Control Panel."

Click "Programs and Features." If you are using an older version of Windows, click "Add/Remove Programs."

Scroll through the list of programs and select "AVG Anti-Virus."

Click "Uninstall" at the top of the screen. When prompted, confirm that you do want to remove the program.
Using the Software

Visit the AVG homepage (see Resources) and download the software, as if you were going to install it.

Double-click on the installer and select "Uninstall" from the options you are given. Confirm your intent to uninstall the software and allow the process to complete.

Restart your computer. AVG Anti-Virus will be removed completely.

Tips & Warnings
The first method should work for most occasions. If you get errors when trying to uninstall using the first method, proceed to the second method.
It is not a good idea to leave your computer without any virus protection at all. If you are removing "AVG Anti-Virus," you should replace it with another anti-virus program as soon as possible.
