How to Airbrush an RC Plane

Tired of buying those generic RC cars? Well now is your chance to do something about it. You can buy clear RC car bodies to paint with whatever current trend you're digging at the moment.

Things You'll Need

  • Clear RC Car Body
  • Spray Paint (or Air Brush)
  • Masking Tape
  • Hobby Knife

Instructions

  1. How To Paint An RC Car Body

    • 1

      Clean car body with dish soap and let it dry.

    • 2

      Cover windows on both the inside and outside of the body with masking tape before applying base coats.

    • 3

      Paint three light coats on the inside of the body. Wait for paint to dry for 15 to 20 minutes between coats.

    • 4

      Repeat the following step with the outside of the car and let it dry.

    • 5

      Use airbrush and stencils to give the car your own custom look.

    • 6

      Carefully remove tape from the windows using a hobby knife.

    • 7

      Add striping as you see fit and enjoy piecing your new custom car together.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure body is clean before applying paint.

  • Paint will have problems sticking to dust or dirt.

  • Mishandling combustibles and chemicals can be hazardous to your health.

  • Keep paints away from open flame.

  • Always apply paint in a well ventilated area.
