Things You'll Need:
- CPAP machine
-
Step 1
Consult the doctor who prescribed the settings on your machine before adjusting the air flow.
-
Step 2
Turn off the machine and unplug from the wall. Depending on the brand of CPAP machine you have, most models require this to change the pressure setting. The REMstar M model is one example.
-
Step 3
Locate the "hidden" button on your CPAP machine that causes your machine to transition into setup mode. For the REMstar M model, you will need to hold down the two buttons underneath the LCD screen while replacing the plug into the electrical outlet. Other brands may require you to hold down the power button for a few seconds. Check with your CPAP maker for brand-specific instructions.
-
Step 4
Scroll through the setup options until you locate "CPAP Pressure."
-
Step 5
Use the selection button that appears as a backward arrow to decrease the air flow. The setting "1" is the lowest setting.
