How to Reset a Radio Shack Radio Controlled Clock

Save

The Radio Shack radio-controlled clock is a digital clock that uses a radio signal to keep time. Some manufacturers call these clocks "atomic clocks." If your radio display is frozen, you'll need to reset it to restore service.

Things You'll Need

  • Paper clip
  • Straighten the paper clip. You'll need it to access the reset button on the clock.

  • Remove the clock from the wall. Turn it over to find the small hole labeled "Reset."

  • Insert the straightened paper clip into the hole. Push it as far in as it will go to reset the clock.

Tips & Warnings

  • It will take about two minutes for the correct time to display after resetting the radio. The radio will have to search for and acquire a signal.
  • You can also reset the radio by removing and reinserting the battery. Pull off the battery cover on the rear of the clock to access the battery.
