How to Get Nicotine Patch Adhesive Off Skin
A nicotine patch is a self-adhesive patch which was developed to release small doses of nicotine into the skin during the course of a day. Designed to help people to stop smoking, it is relatively inexpensive and easy to use. It comes in various dosages so that the smoker can taper the dosage as he or she makes progress. One of the benefits with the patch is that it only needs to be applied once a day and that there are very few side effects, which are usually simply limited to skin irritation. However, as the patch uses a self-adhesive, removing it completely from the skin without irritation can be a bit of a challenge.

1
Remove the nicotine patch. This is done by grabbing one of the edges and pulling it away from the skin.
-
2
Fold the patch in half so that the adhesive side is not facing outwards. This will prevent the used patch from becoming attached to another object or person accidentally.

Apply a commercially based adhesive remover to the area with a cotton ball. Wipe the area clean. Alternatively, you can spread baby oil or olive oil over the area to remove any left over adhesive or stickiness left behind by the patch.

Wash the area with soap and water. This will remove any oily residue left behind by the baby or olive oil. Dry the area with a clean towel.

Tips & Warnings
Witch hazel may also help to remove any remaining glue left by the nicotine patch. This is done the same way as removing the patch with oil.
Removing the patch too quickly or ripping it from the skin can be painful. Remember to remove the patch slowly, so that you don't cause skin irritation.
