Instructions

    • 1

Create a work area to make clean-up easier after the Cinderella party crafts and to contain the mess to one spot in the house or yard. Cover the table with scrap paper or a plastic sheet and give the guests adult-sized t-shirts to wear to protect their clothing from paint, markers and adhesives.

    • 2

Use shallow plastic bowls to hold embellishments and make the objects easier for the kids to choose and grab while completing the crafts. Pour paints onto paper plates and position disposable cups along the table where the kids can place their wet paintbrushes. Have paper towels handy to clean up spills.

    • 3

Let the guests create princess party magic wands by decorating two 3-inch-tall pink, lavender or light blue cardstock stars with glitter glue, washable paints, markers or self-adhesive sequins. Affix the stars to an 8-inch-long, blunt wood dowel with adhesive dots. Place the stars back-to-back with the dowel in the middle so the wand will be decorative from both sides.

    • 4

Embellish plain plastic silver, pink or white tiaras sold at party supply stores with foam shapes, buttons, paper flowers and stickers. Use white glue or adhesive dots to attach the embellishments that don't have a self-adhesive backing.

    • 5

Help the princesses decorate plain white flip-flops with ribbon and self-adhesive plastic gems to create Cinderella-inspired "glass slippers." Affix the gems along the flip flop straps and around the sole of the shoes. Tie 3-inch-long pieces of ribbon around the straps in random spots as an extra-colorful touch.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make the hand-cut cardstock stars for the magic wands by tracing a stencil or cookie cutter onto the cardstock with a pencil and cutting the shapes out with scissors. When cutting the stars, ensure you round the corners to prevent the guests from poking each other with the stars' sharp points.

  • After the guests complete their princess-themed crafts, hold a contest and award prizes like Cinderella movies, gift cards to the Disney Store, Cinderella t-shirts or plastic sports bottles imprinted with princess designs to the winners. Let the guests display their magic wands, tiaras and slippers and award prizes in categories such as "most beautiful," "most colorful" or "most likely to impress Prince Charming."

  • Ensure the party guests are old enough to avoid putting small objects in their mouths if you're creating crafts with buttons, sequins or plastic gems since these items can pose a choking hazard.
