How to Clean Bathroom Scales

Bathroom scales, like other items in your bathroom, can accumulate dust, dirt and debris over time. You may not think much about the scales until it is time to use them. A little glass cleaner and a clean cloth is all that you need to bring them back to life. Your bathroom scales will be shiny and debris free in no time.

Things You'll Need

• Flat surface
• Glass cleaner
• Latex gloves
• 2 clean cloths or towels
• Paper towels
• Paste wax

Instructions

1. Place the bathroom scale on a clean flat surface like a countertop or workbench.

2. Spray the bathroom scale with glass cleaner. Cover the entire scale with glass cleaner including underneath the scale. Wear latex gloves.

3. Let the glass cleaner set on the scale for five minutes.

4. Scrub the scale with a clean cloth or towel to break up any caked-on dirt and debris. Don't forget the underside of the scale.

5. Wipe the scale clean with another clean cloth or towel.

6. Dry the bathroom scale with one or more paper towels.

7. Dip a clean paper towel into a container of paste wax.

8. Apply a light coat of paste wax to your bathroom scale. The wax will keep the scale from rusting.

Tips & Warnings

• Mop your bathroom's floor with a floor cleaner before placing the scale back in the room.
