Intex quick set pools are known for their ease of set up and minimal maintenance. They are manufactured using a highly durable rubber material that makes it easy to set up and take down and helps to resist holes and punctures. The pool walls stay erect because of an inflatable ring at the top of the pool. While this air ring is also made of a fairly durable rubber material, after extended use, it can incur small tears or holes. Repairing the air ring requires minimal tools and time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Air pump
  • Permanent marker
  • Intex patch kit
  • Scissors
  • Cotton swab
  1. Step 1

Inflate the inflatable ring until it is comfortably full.

  2. Step 2

Examine the surface of the ring after it is inflated. Search for any holes, rips or tears. Mark these areas with a permanent marker so you can easily locate them during the repair process.

  3. Step 3

Cut a circular shaped patch using a scissors. The patch should be large enough to provide at least 1/2-inch overlap on all sides of the hole or tear. (Patch kits come with the pool.)

  4. Step 4

Place a pea-size drop of the patching adhesive that came with your pool onto the patch.

  5. Step 5

Cover the edges of the hole or tear with patching adhesive.

  6. Step 6

Spread the adhesive to a thin layer on both the patch and the pool ring using a cotton swab. Allow both areas to rest for about 10 minutes so the adhesive can cure.

  7. Step 7

Place the circular shaped patch over the hole or tear.

  8. Step 8

Smooth the patch to the surface of the inflatable air ring. Start from the center of the patch and work toward the edges. This will remove any air bubbles that might have formed under the patch.

  9. Step 9

Wait 10 to 15 minutes and then repeat the smoothing technique.

Tips & Warnings
  • The circular patch should be cut using the clear patching material that comes with the Intex pool repair kit.
  • Squared patch edges have a greater chance of peeling off the air ring surface.
  • Wait at least 12 hours after patch is administered before swimming in the pool.
