How to Divide a White Bird of Paradise in the Ground
Bird of paradise makes a beautiful addition to any flower garden. The plant gets its name from its beautiful flower, which resembles a brightly colored bird in flight. White bird of paradise, also called tree bird of paradise, has a distinct stem.
If you have a white bird of paradise, you can propagate it by dividing it. While plants grown from seed will bloom in 3 to 5 years, division will produce a flowering plant in 1 to 2 years.

Carefully dig around the plant to unearth the underground stems or rhizomes.

Cut the rhizomes with the sharp knife. Each division should have a fan with roots attached.
