Instructions

    • 1

Unscrew the top of the flashlight, exposing the corroded batteries. You may want to wear cleaning gloves while doing this so the material does not rub off onto your hands.

    • 2

Turn the flashlight upside down over a trash can and hit the backside of the device. This may be all that it takes to remove the batteries.

    • 3

Install a long drill bit into a drill if the batteries did not come out. Power it on and drill into the battery.

    • 4

Pull back on the drill (with it powered down). The batteries should come right out with the drill bit.

    • 5

Pour a small amount of vinegar into the bottom of the flashlight once the batteries have been removed. Scrub the inside with either a bottle brush or a toothbrush.

    • 6

Pour out the vinegar and rinse thoroughly with water. Dry out the flashlight with a rag and set it aside to dry completely before placing new batteries into the device.
