Tips & Warnings
Maypop is used to treat nervous disorders, including anxiety, restlessness and insomnia. Non-toxic and non-habit forming, the herb is safe with no known side affects. The herb is prepared as a tea or tincture.
Maypop is an exceptionally heavy vine. If you wish it to climb, make sure it has a strong, supported trellis. Maypop may also be allowed to grow on the ground where it will attach its self to fences and porch rails.
The exterior of the seed is very tough. Prior to planting, sand lightly with a coarse sandpaper, then soak the seeds in lukewarm water.
