How to Install a Toto Aquia Dual Flush Toilet
Toto Aquia Dual Flush toilets are one of the most advanced toilets on the market today. Using dual flush technology, the toilet user can choose to flush different amounts of water depending on the whether there is liquid or solid waste in the toilet bowl. Because of the way the Toto Aquia flushes, it uses a special PVC waste drain to make the connection to the closet flange. This makes installing a Toto Aquia Dual Flush Toilet a little more complicated than a normal toilet installation, but in the end, the environment, and your pocketbook, will thank you. Check the rough in dimensions to make sure that the Toto Aquia Dual Flush can be installed in your bathroom. The center of the closet flange drain needs to be 12 inches from the wall and the water supply should be 8 to 10 inches to the left of the closet flange (looking from the front). The instructions should have included a template that will allow you to check for the floor mounts and other equipment as well.

Insert the included bolts into the closet flange.

Using the template provided, drill anchor holes for the screws that will hold the mounting bolts for the PVC connection. Follow the directions with your toilet, as holes on tile floors and concrete need to be of different sizes.

Take the PVC connection that came with the Toto Aquia and turn it upside down. Firmly place a wax ring into the bottom. Turn the PVC back over so that it is right side up. Set this over the flange. When it is aligned correctly, press down firmly to seal.

Tighten the flange bolts. Do this hand tight at first, then 1/2 turn with a wrench.

Insert the tank screws into the back of the bowl.

Slide the bowl onto the PVC outlet. Make sure it is firmly seated against the PVC. Attach the mounting bolts to the bowl.

Connect the water supply fill valve to the tank. Unlike other toilet installations, the connection to the water supply on Toto Aquia dual flush toilets needs to be secure before the tank is installed.

Insert the gasket onto the outlet at the bottom of the tank. Gently lower the tank on the bowl, making sure the bolts are aligned with the bottom of the tank and the overflow valve fits into the socket on the back of the bowl.

Attach the other end of the water inlet hose to the water supply at the wall. Once the connection is tight, turn on the water and allow the tank to fill. Flush the toilet several times and check for leaks.

Install the lid on the tank, making sure the push buttons are aligned properly (blue to blue and white to white).

Attach the toilet seat using the bolts and nuts provided.

Tips & Warnings
Wrap plumber's tape around the inlet valve on the tank and on the outlet valve in order to achieve a good seal.
Once the PVC connection is set, do not move it.
Do not overtighten bolts, as this could cause them to crack the PVC or the porcelain.
