How to Cook Green Peanuts in Pressure Cooker

Green peanuts are not actually the color green. They are just fresh raw peanuts that have not been cooked yet. Things You'll Need

  • Pressure cooker
  • 1 lb. green peanuts
  • 1/2 cup kosher salt
  • 4 cups of water

Instructions

      Set your peanuts in a colander and rinse them off under running water.

      Transfer the peanuts from the colander to the pressure cooker.

      Add your water and salt to the pressure cooker.

      Cook the peanuts for 45 minutes at 10 lbs. of pressure.

      Drain the water out and let the peanuts cool. You can eat them warm, but you don't want them so hot that it will burn your tongue.

Tips & Warnings

  • For added flavor, add Old Bay Seasoning to the pressure cooker at the same time you add the salt.

  • If you don't have a pressure cooker, you can boil the peanuts for two hours instead.

  • You will need to keep your peanuts fresh if you don't plan on eating them all in one day. Make sure you have some plastic zipper bags or air tight containers to store them in.
